Based in Los Angeles, Claridge Properties was founded in 1999 in Brooklyn, New York by developer Ricardo Pagan. Founder & CEO

A self-made developer born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Brooklyn, Ricardo C. Pagan began buying and developing buildings when he was in his late teens. Since founding Claridge Properties two decades ago, he has developed everything from a four-acre site on the Brooklyn waterfront to an iconic hotel and office complex in Detroit to a forward-reaching $1.25 billion mixed use project in downtown Los Angeles. Under Ricardo’s guidance, Claridge Properties has become one of the most exciting development companies in the real estate business, known for pinpointing unforeseen opportunities and ambitiously transforming them into lucrative investments. Ricardo is fervently committed to delivering excellence with every project, employing the very best talent from diverse backgrounds, and impacting communities through inclusive initiatives. Under his leadership and guidance, Claridge Properties is envisioning the future one building at a time, for cities and the people who inhabit them.


Los Angeles, CA

Considered by many to be the most coveted project in DTLA, Angels Landing is a $1.25 billion development at the corner of Fourth and Hill Streets that expects to break ground in 2024, with a completion date of 2027. Partnering with Peebles Corporation and MacFarlane Partners, Claridge Properties beat out some of the country’s biggest developers, including The Related Companies, Trammell Crow, Lowes Enterprises and Onni Group, to win the project, largely by having a clear vision for the site from Day One. Situated in the heart of downtown and featuring a 25,000SF plaza, Angels Landing will offer 150 condominium residences, 450 rental apartments, and a K-5, 45,000-square-foot elementary school operated by the Los Angeles Academy of Arts and Enterprise. There will also be 50,000 square feet of retail, including high-end restaurants, a 300-room Mondrian Hotel and a 180-room Mandarin Hotel, along with its branded residences. Angels Landing is on course to forever change the Los Angeles skyline.


Detroit, MI

In 2005, after commencing the development of the Greenpoint waterfront project, Ricardo Pagan re-visited Detroit, Michigan, and found the city ripe for investment. Not long after, Claridge Properties purchased two of Detroit’s most iconic properties, the 38-story Book Tower and 13-story Book Building for $6 Million, in turn putting Claridge Properties on the map in that city and across the country. One of the oldest complexes in the city, the two buildings occupied prestigious addresses and history along Washington Boulevard. Claridge’s vision for the project was to convert the first two floors across both building into a retail atrium, with the upper floors of the smaller building and the larger tower to be condominiums. The lower floors of the Book Tower were upgraded as offices. After establishing a new beacon for the city of Detroit, Claridge sold the properties in 2011.
